Dolce and Gabanna has recently announced that they are launching a kid’s line, available in July. They’re by no means the first fashion house to reach out to their younger consumers, if you can call them that, considering they aren’t actually buying anything…. But anyways, D&G has some cute looks for your little baron or baroness:
DvF designed a limited edition collection for the Gap, which I thought was super cute and affordable.
Gucci also has a kid’s line, which is of course more dapper and well, Gucci-like. The line is so, so European and not quite my style. If you see my child in a Gucci print polo shirt, you will know that I’ve been kidnapped and my brother-in-law, who lives in Portugal, has taken control of my house.
No word on the pricepoint yet of the D&G line, but one can only imagine…My question is: would you is would you spend this sort of dough on your kid’s clothes, ones that are sure to be dirtied up and ripped? I can fully see myself getting unbelievably pissed that my kid ripped the Swarovski crystals off her pants because duck duck goose got a little rowdy.
Don’t get me wrong, the clothes are precious. And I love nothing more than seeing cute hipster kids like Gwen Stefani’s kids, or David Beckam’s kids, or Suri Cruise (well, not so hipster) in head to toe name brands, skinny jeans and inappropriate kiddie high heels, but I’m not sure I’ll do that for my kid. Maybe a piece or two? What do you think?
Enjoy!
