Okay, I have to disclaim here, I never watched Laguna Beach. (Or Jersey Shore, but that’s another story…) So I never got on the Lauren Conrad bandwagon. I never really understood why as 20 somethings we would be so excited over a teenager who was essentially spoiled. But okay.

After “starring” on the reality show, which was chock full of drama and mystery, she started not one but two clothing lines: LC by Lauren Conrad (with Kohl’s) and Paper Crown. This was after “landing” an internship at Teen Vogue. (MTV had nothing to do with it…) I was like, okay, she’s entrepreneurial. I like that.

Then Christina pointed out her beauty blog, The Beauty Department, to me. I think it’s actually quite well done. Good little practical tips. Doubtful as to why she’s a beauty expert after having probably been just allowed to wear makeup a few years ago, but I like the site.

And now she’s launching a beauty book due out in October. Not that she’s not a cute girl, but what does she really know about beauty? Supposedly, LC has “perfected her signature beauty look” (really??!!), and is going to share tips and tricks and hairstyles with us. I love a girl with personal style, but I’m doubtful that Lauren Conrad is the one to help me refine mine. I need a woman with a little more experience, who has gone through a few more stages in life. But I could be wrong. This could be the best thing ever. Somehow I don’t think I’m the audience for this book. My little sister, however, will be all over it, I’m sure.
